Meet the real housewives

Now….that was fun. I’m REALLY glad my friends don’t read my blog.

errrr…..

maybe they do.

I don’t know….but they all thought it was weird that i was taking solo photos of them.

My friends are pretty special though….and special friends are hard to find….

which is why i love to serve them some much needed bubbly once a year.

I can’t promise you they didn’t stumble out the door.

The scene…i used paper doilies for the decor…i just strung different sizes together.

Really inexpensive and easy…you could even coffee stain them for some depth.

What you saw on the menu were some home made yogurt parfaits…with granola and blueberries.

The mimosa’s were made with cheap champagne.  Luckily my friends didn’t look at the label.

Mini lemon bundt cakes with REAL lemon whip cream.

{whipping cream and lemon curd all mixed up}

Artichoke quiche….some mini croissants….and the cake.

Did you see the cake?

My friend Shannon made it.

Oh…and the cake bunting….that’s from Kiki La Ru

her cake buntings are The bestest. Is bestest a word…i don’t know..but it is now.

This cake bunting i used was called “The Lola”….and i am giving it away today…

courtesy of Kiki LaRu.

I promise i didn’t lick the sticks.

One of you will win it…just let me know in your comment;-)

Now…i’m going to go and finish the left over champagne.

  1. An awesome post about an amazing party with some incredible women, Kasey! Love everything about it, except for the fact that I wasn’t invited 🙂

  2. Wow what a great gathering, looks like you had a great time. I liked the bio on each one, that was fun. Thanks for sharing. Florence

Kasey, i Love ready your blog. Your pictures are so amazing, and your kids are so beautiful! Now that I am married and my husband and I are talking about starting a family of our own, I am taking tips for you. I can’t wait to have mom mimosa parties with my friends! I think that is what I am most looking forward to after having kids. haha kidding. But I have to tell you my favorite post was from a few months back. It was about your trip to CA alone with your husband, and how important that alone time is. I loved it! After I read it I went home and told my hubby that we have to do that when we have kids. Thank you so much for sharing your life with us. I really appreciate all of the beautiful pictures and the stories of you life! 🙂

  4. Hi! Cute photos. Just a heads up: only one of the apostrophes you used in this blog post actually was used correctly: the one in “5 o’clock.” Apostrophes are never used to make plural nouns and never used in verbs. I suggest checking out http://grammar.quickanddirtytips.com/grammar-apostrophes.aspx for more information about the correct use of apostrophes.

    • Thank you!! You probably didn’t realize I didn’t graduate
highschool. So”” I’m a little overwhelmed when
      it comes to ””.

    • Erin Underwood says:

umm… I’m pretty sure apostrophes can be used in contractions as well? Which they were used correctly in that case… plus it’s a blog– who says your english has to be formal and correct all the time? It’s not like we all run everything through spell check or proof read a billion times. That is for people who are anal.

  5. I LOVE LOVE LOVED the description of your friends and now I want to do the same. I also want to come and drink orange juice-less mimosas with you! ; )

  6. o this such a fun idea! love your descriptions of your friends, and the whole party atmosphere you created!

  7. Hi Kasey,

    Hi Kasey,
I follow your blog and find it so refreshing! I did want to mention however – I noticed that your lemon whip cream (and really, it should be “whipped cream or whipping cream” my dear) wasn’t quite as fluffy as it *could* have been. Now, don’t worry, it is a common mistake and honestly, don’t be too hard on yourself. With a little more practice, I am sure that you can get it right for your next soiree! I do hope that you added lemon zest as, surely you know how that would amplify the lemony goodness!
Have a fabulous week and keep practicing – you are *nearly* the’re!
    xx
