Thirty things i learned

We just got back from a really quick 48 hour trip in which we drove down

to Indiana to celebrate bryans grandmothers 90th birthday.

I’ve also had 48 hours to realize a few very important things.

30 things…if you happen to count them.

1. I really LOVE hotel water-parks when there are cousins to play with my children.

2. It is very important to bring the car charger for the dvd player.

3. Kids like to argue whether you drive 3 minutes or 3 hours.

4. I do not like buffets.

5. It is really hard for a family of 5 to sleep in 2 double beds.

6. It is really hard for a family of 5 to sleep in 2 double beds.

7. Sorry…i am a bit sleep deprived…and i tend to repeat things.

8. I really…really love Bryan’s extended family.

9. I was happy that i did NOT have to get into a swimsuit.

10. Every family has problems.

11. If your family doesn’t have problems..then you are not normal.

12. Hotel lighting in the bathroom is not my friend.

13. It is hard to snuggle with your husband when there is a child between you both.

14. My children survive on candy and candy alone.

15. Bryan’s grandmother still drinks wine.

16. Wine helps her vision.

17. Wine helps my vision also.

18. I found out that Bryan’s cousins read my blog.

19. A huge shout out to the Indianapolis crowd.

20. The only one that asked about my nose was my mother in law.

22. She mentioned that noses were not meant to be pierced.

23. She also mentioned that bodies were not meant to have tattoos.

24. Bryan has a tat of a shark on his ankle.

25. I forgot my camera…and did not get one single photo ofย our weekend.

26.We are home now…and Bryan started taking apart the dance stage in the backyard

27. We don’t rake leaves….we blow them.

28. I really like to take pictures of my shoes.

29. I do not have a shoe problem.

30. I turned the clocks forward so that the kids thought it was really 8 o’clock and time for bed.

Comments

  1. You make me smile. Love your take on life and your daily musings and the pic of your shoes!
    Sounds like an interesting trip!
I too have been known to change the time on the clock to trick the kids ๐Ÿ™‚
Sleep deprivation is a nasty, nasty thing. Lucky you have wine to help with your vision, lol.

  2. Sounds like a good trip, especially if you can discover 30 things! Super cute shoes by the way : ) Shoe problem? Is there a problem when you need 2 huge dresser drawers for shoes and still cannot hold all the ones you have? I don’t see a shoe problem here or with you!

  3. Turning the clock up is a great idea. I don’t think I ever did that when Caden was growing up. Wish I had thought about doing that.

  4. you are a hoot!
    happy almost monday!
we were on Fall break last week and i need some me time..tee hee do you after a roadtrip with kiddies and no charger for tha dvd??
i may start drinking wine again..i need help with my vision.
    toodles.

  5. love love love your lists. always love to learn even more about you. maybe it would be better if we did another trip together… just sayin’…
    have a fabulous week!!!
    xx

  6. …turned the clocks forward….

what a smart mom. I salute you!
here’s another mom tip my sister used, take the batteries out and put them back in backwards when you just can’t listen for another minute…

  7. I’m happy that you had a nice trip! I survive on candy too.

    : )

  13. Fun list! Nothing like a trip to visit family to bring out the ‘best’ in people. Gotta love the wine! ๐Ÿ™‚

  14. love ’em all, but the last one is THE BEST! I will definitely be using that trick in the coming years.
    xo
    shs

  15. I’ve learned some of those things, too:) Loved #30…thanks for the tip!

  16. You make me smile, thank you!

  17. Hi Kasey,
I knew that your blog excisted, via Kimberly’s blog, (she was my first follower!),
but until two hours ago, I never really took the time to properly read it. Stupid me!
I love, love, the way you write!
It’s open, funny, and your photo’s are super! And I’m not just saying this, I really mean that!
I’m a happy new follower! Thanks for making me smile today, a lot!
    Maureen

  18. Sounds like my family… we all think that wine helps our vision too! =] When I have kids, I will have to remember #30- that is fantastic. Thanks for the laugh

  19. You are just what I needed today! I giggled outloud…I often do when I read all about you! It has started to snow here in chilly Canada and I sent my 3 kiddos to school without boots! (the only shoes on the shelf in her school bootroom belonged to my 5 year old! …who I think, by the way, would be a perfect match for your sweet Fin…they would have beautiful babies with white blond hair…okay, sorry, I digress…) Have a great Monday!

  20. fun roadtrip!
great idea on the clock plan….you must have few clocks. would have taken me forever!

  21. I look forward to reading your blog everyday! I don’t think a day has gone by where you didn’t make me smile or laugh out loud. You have a great sense of humor and it shows well in your writing.
Love your shoes today! They match so nicely with the autumn leaves.
Mother-in-laws say the darndest things don’t they? It’s nice that you have a format to help take the sting out.
My vision has been a little blurry lately, maybe I need a little wine to clear that up! If it’s good for Grandma, it’s good enough for me!

  22. ๐Ÿ™‚

  23. Cute post. Glad you had a good time.

  24. When I was a teenager I used to babysit for 2 kids that were such little PITA’s (for those of you that don’t know – Pains in the A@#) that I used to change the clock just so I wouldn’t have to deal with them any longer. I feel like I just went to confession telling that to so many people!! Sometimes you just need to do it!!

  25. #31……Great taste in shoes! Love them……

  26. I have 20/20 vision…..because of wine….of course….and one contact in my left eye…right eye?…perfect….that is the eye that loves the wine…

    Love your lists!!

    Lou Cinda ๐Ÿ™‚

  28. This is a fantastic list… and I love that his grandmother still drinks wine. And that you turned the clock forward to make your kids go to bed. So wise.

  29. why has nobody asked yet: “WHERE’D YOU GET THE YELLOW SHOES?!?!”

  30. Last year….dang….I love those yellow shoes!

  31. Buffets are gross, gross, gross… Agreed.

  32. There are so many things on this list that I completely agree with, and they all made me chuckle. Sounds like a great weekend!
    Love the Grandma…

  33. Oh Kasey, I am addicted to your blog! I read it on my mobile first thing in the morning. I love it! Youmade me smile, today. Have a great day.

    And yay for ‘clock-tricks’! :))
