This is Fin.
Fin is in his first year of Awana.
Fin had crazy hair night on tuesday for Awana.
Fin needed some GEL in order to have crazy hair.
I let Fin do his own hair.
Fin finds some GEL….all on his own.
The next morning i walk into boys bathroom to clean up.
I find the GEL that Fin used in his hair for Awana.
I call bryan at work and ask him if he saw the GEL that Fin used.
Bryan laughs and says yes….he saw it….but didn’t want to tell me.
Fin comes home with a prize for having the best crazy hair.
Fin said his hair felt great all night.
Note to self: need to monitor children more closely.
Note to KY jelly company: your GEL works REALLY well to spike hair.
Note to Bryan: please put GEL away so that our children don’t have to go to therapy.
Note to mother in law: let me have a glass or two of wine before you call me.

a few years ago, our foster daughter found our “hair” gel on the nightstand and asked what it was. i told her it helped Toby relax so he could go to sleep at night. after that, she would often say, “Dad, do you need your sleep medicine tonight?”
of course, he always said yes!

I was immediately drawn in to this post by the red Sparks vest….We called it Sparkies when I was little. I went to Awana from Fin’s age to 7th grade at my church. I can just imagine Fin quoting Bible verses in his crazy do!!! This is a great story, and I am sure your mother-in-law must be so proud;)

When I was a kid, a friend and I came across tissues and KY under her dad’s bed… Innocently we asked my older sister what it was and she very kindly *cough cough* told me she didn’t know and to ask ‘Brown Owl’ at Brownies that night… and so, when it came to circle time… I put my hand up and asked… I can’t remember what answer she gave, but it definitely wasn’t the right one… me and my friend still laugh about it now, so I guess your little boy will be recalling this in years to come! Lx

OMG that is so funny.! What lurks behind closed cupboard doors is a blog post in itself. I stayed with some people once and borrowed their hairdyer which they told me I could find in their bedroom. Beside their bed was an indistrial size KY. they must have got it from a medical supply house. I did chuckle. Next day they moved it.
That is easily the most awesome / SOOO glad that didn’t happen to me story I have heard, maybe ever!
