the living room

So….here it is.

What i love about this switch the most is that the new living room flows into my sun-room now….

so it’s like two areas of seating.

Seating for me….in the sun-room…where i can shut the double french doors and LOCK them…

while i sit in the time out corner.….or i can sit with my kids in the living room.

{i’ll let you decide where i should be}

I get a lot of comments about the slip covered sofa…and the deal with it being white.

I’ll be honest…it gets dirty easily….no doubt….

but…it’s slipcovered…and with having boys in the house…it’s so easy to wash it.

I always have an extra slip cover available to put on the sofa when i’m washing the alternate…and

since they are from Ikea….should they get really stained or need to be replaced…it’s very inexpensive.

I found this green armchair on craigslist a few years ago…i just happened on it…and almost did not

go to look at it because the photo didn’t do it justice.

I am so glad i went…because i only ended up paying something like $50 for it.

the stacked boxes i’ve been collecting from the flea market to hold the kids books….

sweet little green stool from the flea market as well…..

the kids use it when they want to sit up at the coffee table.

Last year in France….i came across a bunch of old maps…which i scooped up….

and i taped them up on the wall.

I used masking tape….i know….i’m a little odd…but i really like that look.

{it’s hard to believe but one year ago TODAY…i was roaming the streets of Paris …

eating things like pigeon….snails….and what not. I might just have some french fries today

to help get me thru the constant nostalgia}

This is where the tele is hidden.

Bryan hates that i call it a TELE instead of a T.V…..but like i tell him…you can take the girl out of France….

but you can’t take the France of the girl.

He wishes he had a mute button for me on occasion.

I told Lola to pick up a book and pretend like she was quietly reading away

like the kids in the magazines….that are all sitting around reading poetry books

…but she said no…..

she was going to continue to watch her show…..but at least she smiled.

{she dresses herself btw….and did not just get released from case you were wondering

about the jail stripes}

and more books…..

with books in a basket under the coffee table.

Because the day will come…when the tele comes off and my kids will one day want to read.

{i like to have options like that…you know…just in case}

There you have it….the living room which was a dining room but is now a living room.

p.s. I have been really bad about answering some of you questions…since i was on vacation and
